Amazing how much easier the lawn mower is to start when you change the oil, spark plug, air filter and dump out the old gas. :P
The aural definition of happy. :)
First time in a long time…
My arms hurt…
I will set the keyboard in my lap today at work…only way anything gets done…
Ouch…
Mine…all mine…
Awesome! :)
Hell no I didn’t participate. I’d woulda been carried back to shore by one of the safety crews with jet skis less than a quarter mile in.
I didn’t meet trimamatri either…even though she gave me heads up that morning of the tri what she was wearing and such. Because I didn’t have my phone with me…because my phone decided it wanted to do some laps in the cats’ water bowl. Water and Droid…make for sad Bart.
So I went out that morning to check this whole triathlon thing out in person. There’s one in my hometown, but do I wanna give it a try in 2013? That’s why I was there.
One thing I found out right away…being in a triathlon…
Way more interesting being in one that watching one.
I guess the same could be said for watching someone run in a half/full marathon. All the more reason to give my family props for watching me in Nashville.
The waves weren’t as bad as they were predicting for the swim, but the strong current more than made up for that. MANY people were getting out of the water complaining about the water. My favorite was the old man getting out of the water…walking up the chute…looking at his watch and just saying “Shit” really loud. :)
A local friend was doing her second tri so I watched for her, and she did great even though it was a challenging day due to the weather. Many people were being pushed down the beach quite a bit before finally getting out of the water.
Then you had to fight the wind for the bike and run portions of the race. It seemed to be going in parallel with Thomas drive so it either hit you head-on or pushed you from the rear.
It also rained pretty hard for a short bit during the bike portion of the race. The spectators all ran for cover, but I was thinking that if I was participating, I’d love it. It was overcast all day, so the heat and humidity of Florida weren’t in full bloom. It was easily a good deal cooler last weekend than it was for us in Nashville…but then again, we didn’t have these winds to contend with.
I stuck around till about noon. The early finishers had already completed their day…my friend was already heading out for her run and she looked good. I never saw trimamatri, but it looks like she did well and was happy with her event.
I have the utmost respect for everyone who participated that day…that’s an amazing accomplishment. :)
I’ll be going to watch the Gulf Coast Triathlon here in Panama City tomorrow. Going to see if it’s something I wanna try next year.
I believe trimamatri is doing it…anybody else out there?
My little brother and I intend on holding funny signs for absolutely no reason other than to make tired runners laugh. :)
I know it sure lifted my spirits in Nashville a few weeks ago. :)
Long day at work…supper with the lady…webinar lesson to watch…then finally time for a run…
Nearly four miles…it’s was awesome… :)
Goodbye nice, cool, spring mornings…
Hello muggy, humid, summer mornings…
Seven miles done…felt good…going to do another week of recovery runs even though I think I’m good to go…
Have a good day everyone. :)
Can somebody update my house concert website, Music Under the Moss, with this new theme from Andreas Viklund? Yeah, you’re going to have to resize all the pictures too to fit the new photo slider as well…and I want to incorporate our Facebook and YouTube pages as well…
By morning, could you have that done?
Thanks…
The picture I wanted finally showed up. :)
And I swear I was actually running in this photo. :)
